| The echo isn’t coming from your system, but rather from the other person’s system. As your sound is sent to another party, it plays through their speakers. Their microphone picks up that sound and sends it back, creating the echo effect. Although level settings can help reduce this echo (you may contact our HelpDesk for assistance), there are several things the person generating the echo can do to virtually eliminate this echo. 1. They can use headphones rather than speakers. That way, the microphone won’t “hear” and relay sounds. 2. They can use a true echo canceling microphone. Most microphones claim to be echo canceling, but only those that have special circuitry or software really provide adequate echo canceling. 3. They can us a quality speakerphone connected to their computer. This is particularly valuable when there are multiple parties at one station. VIFamilies offers equipment for all three of these solutions. |
